Two ways this gets bigger

More than one location

If you run a chain, the price comes down.

The $40 price is built for one business with one counter. If your locations are spread across the state, that's a different conversation and a different number — and I'm already having it. There's a California chain rolling this out store by store right now, well under retail.

Tell me how many locations you have and roughly how many registers sit in each one. You'll get one price per placard for the whole company, and one invoice your accounting department can actually process.

Nothing to sign to get a number, and no minimum to ask. The more registers, the lower the price per placard — programming and shipping stay included either way.

The affiliate program

Bring me a company. Take half the profit.

Put me in front of a business, and when they buy you keep half of what I make on that order. Not a coupon, not store credit — half the profit, paid straight to you.

One thing has to happen for it to work. At checkout they type your name into the “How did you hear about us?” box — and that box is the whole system. Your name in it, you get paid. Left blank, I have no way of knowing who sent them.

It pays the same on one $40 placard as it does on a chain rollout, and there's no limit to how many you send my way.

Paid once their order is settled and delivered. Say the word before they buy and I'll confirm your half in writing first, so nobody's guessing at the number.

Straight answers

Does my customer need to download an app?

No. iPhones from the XR and XS (2018) onward read the tag with the screen on — nothing to install, nothing to open. Android phones read it with NFC switched on, which it is by default on most phones. Nothing to sign into either way.

Are you Google? Does this change my listing?

No and no. Spindola Software is one independent business in Orangevale. I'm not affiliated with Google and I don't work for them. Nothing about your listing changes whether you buy this or not, and I never log in to anything of yours. If someone calls you claiming to be Google and threatening your listing, it isn't Google.

What if someone has an older phone?

A small number of older phones won't tap, and they'll just carry on with their day — the sign costs you nothing on the times it isn't used. Everyone else taps. I'd rather tell you that up front than have you find out on the counter. The wallet tap cards also carry a QR code on the back, so those work either way.

Do you need my Google password?

Never. I don't want it and I won't ask for it. You copy the link out of your own Business Profile and send it to me — it's the same link you'd text a customer, and it's the only thing I need. I never sign in to anything of yours, at any point.

Where do I find the "Ask for reviews" link?

Search your own business name on Google while you're signed in as the owner. Your Business Profile controls appear, with a button to ask for reviews — that gives you a short link to copy. Paste it into the order and you're done. If you can't find it, just send me your business name and I'll help you get it.

What if I don't have a Google Business Profile yet?

Say so when you book and I'll walk you through starting one — it's free, and it's the single most valuable thing a local business can do online. Google verifies new profiles on their own schedule, so we may install the placard first and point it at your profile the day it goes live.

Does it need power, batteries or Wi-Fi?

None of the three. There is nothing to charge and nothing to connect. The chip is powered by the phone that taps it, which is why it will still work in ten years.

Can I move it after it's installed?

Yes — pick it up and put it wherever you like. It's a free-standing placard, not a fixture, and the chip doesn't care where it sits.

What if it stops working?

Call me and I'll re-program or replace it free. These chips have no moving parts and no battery, so it's rare — but "rare" isn't "never," and it's my name on it.

What if my review link changes?

The chip can be re-written as many times as you like — it isn't printed on, it's stored on it. If you change your business name, move to a new address, or want the sign to open something different, bring it to me or I'll swing by and re-write it. Free, forever, for anyone who has bought from me once.

Where do you install, and how soon?

I'm based in Orangevale and cover Sacramento and the Bay Area in person. Send me your address when you order and I'll confirm the visit — usually within a few days. If you're further out than I can reasonably drive, I'll ship it to you instead, or refund you in full the same day. Your call, and either way you're not left waiting on me.

I'm not near you. Can you still do this?

Yes — I ship anywhere in the US, free, and the price is exactly the same as if I drove it over. You send your Google "Ask for reviews" link at checkout, I program the chip to it, and it arrives ready to use. There's nothing to set up on your end; stand it on the counter and it works.

What's the $50 online special?

The counter placard, one wallet-size tap card, and a stand for the card — $50 for all three instead of $70. It's the setup most shops end up wanting anyway: the sign lives on the counter and the card rides with you.

I have more than one location. Is there a better price?

Yes. The $40 is a single-counter price. Once you're buying for a whole company the price per placard drops, and you get one invoice for all of it instead of a pile of separate receipts. Tell me how many locations you have and roughly how many registers sit in each one, and I'll send a number back — details here.

Can I get paid for sending you business?

Yes. Put me in front of a business and you keep half of what I make on their order. The one catch is that they have to type your name into the “How did you hear about us?” box at checkout — that's how I know who to pay. There's no cap on how many you send. More on the affiliate program.

Is buying reviews part of this?

No, and I wouldn't take that job. This makes it effortless for your real customers to leave their honest opinion. Google is good at spotting fake reviews and the penalty lands on your profile, not on the person who sold them.
